Metabolic Rift: The Excrements of Capitalism

Collaborating
with Tomáš Uhnák and employing the medium of a short,
experimental, documentary video I attempted to introduced ecological
themes linked to the term Metabolic Rift to a broad spectrum of
visitors of artistic institutions. We focused primarily on the
circulation of nutrients within our globalised world. More than half
the world’s population lives in the urban landscape of cities. As a
result, the absolute majority of nutrients necessary for the
production of food does not go back to agricultural land from the
urban centres, instead ending up on waste dumps or being taken by
rivers into the world’s seas and oceans.
